Kuranui Lodge

In an idyllic location beside a pure bubbling stream within Kuranui New Zealand Hunting estate is Kuranui Hunting Lodge. Rustic yet elegant with its massive beams and thick straw walls finished with natural lime plaster, this Lodge was hand crafted by owners Mort and Mel Moon. The Lodge is unique and inviting with a modern approach to comfort that exceeds the expectations of a traditional Hunting Lodge. Before a blazing fire in the massive stone fireplace enjoy a beverage as you relax into a soft leather sofa after an exciting day hunting.

Upstairs are two bedrooms furnished with super king beds, feather and down blankets and duvets and soft pillows to ensure a great night of warmth and comfort. Each room has an attached private ensuite.

A short stroll from the lodge is the 'Villa' with two spacious bedrooms and in each ensuite not only a shower but also the added luxury of a deep relaxing bath.

The Lodge and Villa survey a panorama of ancient rainforest, majestic tree ferns, rolling hills and grassy clearings with the Kuhatahi Stream twisting and turning through this spectacular vista before meandering past the Lodge. In the early morning and late afternoon majestic Red stags and a variety of other game animals may be seen from the Lodge and Villa. Our personalised hunts cater for single hunters, couples and groups of up to 8 family or friends. This is your exclusive home away from home during your entire time with us as we have only one group at any time. You will be treated to outstanding cuisine, including game, complimented with New Zealand's finest beers and wines. During your South Island Tahr and Chamois hunt you will stay in our sister lodge, a beautiful log cabin in the foothills of the breathtaking Southern Alps of New Zealand.
