Mort is your PH and Mel is your personal chef at Kuranui New Zealand hunting. For 20 years they have excelled at helping hunters realise their dream hunt.
Mort is a lifetime hunter and reputed as one of the most experienced guides in New Zealand after 40 years as a professional hunter shooting and live capturing deer in the remote New Zealand wilderness. He is passionate about the outdoors and the right to hunt and has spent many years teaching young or novice hunters the necessary basics of bush survival and the art of stalking Red deer in New Zealand bush country.
Ever the avid hunter his passion now is the thrill of tracking trophies for overseas guests, revelling in their excitement and sharing their adrenalin rush at the conclusion of a successful hunt. Scrupulously fair chase hunting at Kuranui epitomises the 'spot and stalk' technique he embraces. Game animals are not simply targets but trophies to be respected and outwitted living in this environment where cover and bush offers easy escape. Mort knows the Kuranui terrain and bush well and his ability to locate and close in on an animal is intuitive, reliable and uncanny. To hunt with Mort is to hunt with the best.
Mort is a member of the New Zealand Hunting Guides Association, Safari Club International, Dallas Safari Club, Houston Safari Club and is a SCI Master Measurer.
Mel has spent most of her life in hospitality and Tourism. She is a hunter and a chef and is passionate about the outdoors and presenting wholesome nutritious wild foods. She spent many years in the remote New Zealand bush cooking hearty meals over a roaring camp fire for groups of hungry hunters. This environment flamed her passion for New Zealand cuisine incorporating the succulent and healthy taste of the wild and matching this food with outstanding New Zealand beers and wine. She has many qualifications in both Hospitality and Tourism. Mel has extensive knowledge of local attractions and enjoys helping with sightseeing adventures and shopping excursions to complete an awesome New Zealand experience.
