In the region

Trout fishing - we have access to some of the best trout fishing New Zealand, or in fact the world, has to offer and one of the most experienced fishing guides. Either fly fish our pristine rivers or by boat troll on a lake for both rainbow and brown trout. Type of fishing depends on the season, the weather and the time of year but there is always the opportunity to catch a trout (or many). Bring them back to Kuranui where you can feast on delicious boned out trout hot from the smoker!!

Day Excersions

Other day activities from Kuranui Lodge include the local thermal tourist attractions and New Zealand farm and cultural shows. Organised tours of Waitomo caves, ‘Lord of the Rings’  filming sites, Huka falls, wingspan, Ploynesian Spa, Beaches, Wineries, kiwi sanctuary and trout hatchery are available. For the more adventurous there's also white water rafting, bungy jumping, Zorb, canoeing, golf (6 local courses), 4WD offroad adventures, parasailing, gliding, jet boating, lake cruises, museums, helicopter and fixed wing flights and magnificent shopping.

We can organise travel and accompanyment to enjoy any of the above exciting activities, either as a break from hunting, or for partners who are interested in other types of New Zealand adventures.
